The Ship & Anchor Gains two significant Accolades
The Ship & Anchor Gains two significant Accolades
Since re-opening on 2nd March 2024 we are pleased to announce we have been strictly assessed by both the Food Standards Agency and by Trading Standards and passed with flying colours.
Both organisations have sweeping powers to close down pubs and restaurants which fall short of the rigorous food and hygiene standards we all expect as customers as well as weights and measures, trading standards and
trade descriptions.
The Food Standards Agency visited the Ship & Anchor in March and after a nail-biting assessment confirmed a Rating of 5 would continue. Well done to Head Chef Atkins and the team.
Trading Standards Inspection 8th August 2024
Claire Atkins has recently been promoted internally and together with her partner Russell, have taken over the Ship & Anchor’s Pub business from the previous manager couple.
It was therefore no surprise following Trading Standards’ unannounced visit to the Ship & Anchor on 8th August that we again passed with flying colours with Claire’s and new Head Chef Louis Towey’s expert
guidance that we have passed another stringent inspection.
These accolades reflect the sound working practices we follow at the Ship & Anchor, great staff motivation and commitment but most of all will reassure our customers that they are eating and drinking in a very recently and independently assessed pub and restaurant.
A great boost to our confidence and reputation. Thank you to whomever arranged these!
The Ship & Anchor is one of West Sussex’s oldest pubs with records of its existence dating back to 1664.
